Bassendean Youth Services offers a range of structured and unstructured programs for young people in the 12 - 25 age range. These include recreational activities, support services and referral to specialist agencies. The purpose of contact between staff and young people is to empower young people to develop and enhance their skills, knowledge, understandings and attitudes which are beneficial to themselves, as both individuals and as members of society.

Such practices aim to enable young people to better help themselves and exercise self-determination.
